Review Film Red Riding Hood

Red Riding Hood
Thrilling Folk Tale – So Hollywood!

This movie is really changed my imagination about who is the Red Riding Hood girl! When I was a child, Red Riding Hood is someone cute and not this adult in her own folk tale. But, in this movie, the Red Riding Hood girl named Valerie (Amanda Seyfried) brought my mind into Hollywood-styled Red Riding Hood.
That beautiful Valerie was between two men, they are Peter (Shiloh Fernandez) and Henry (Max Irons). Peter is only a carpenter, but Henry is a wealthy man. Valerie’s father, Cesaire (Billy Burke) was not a wealthy man, so that he decided to marry his daughter with Henry. But, Valerie loves Peter. That’s classical.
Valerie lives at Daggerhorn village at her grandmother’s (Julie Christie), which had a myth. They believed that at Full Moon (they called it Bloody Moon) a strange creature called werewolf comes to their village and do anything he wants, like biting humans. “A man bitten is a man cursed,” said Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), the one who takes charge in hunting the werewolf.
Valerie’s sister and Henry’s father were a part of werewolf’s victim. Based from that, Father Solomon, which his wife had killed too, came to Daggerhorn and intended to kill the werewolf. He also had silver fingernails that can be the best weapon to kill the werewolf.
There are so many problems for hunting the werewolf. Many citizens killed. Valerie caught as bait by Father Solomon for the werewolf. If the sacrifice happens, what happened to Valerie then? Can Henry and Peter rescued her from the werewolf? But the most important is, who is the real werewolf? Why he wants Valerie?
Just watch the movie and you’ll find the perfect answers for it. But I can’t say that this is a recommended movie. Just watch it if you have much spare time, because I’m not that satisfied after I watch this movie.
